SAFEGUARDING
Safeguarding Statement
At Volt Young Company, the safety and welfare of every child and young person is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive and positive environment where young people can develop their confidence, creativity and performance skills while feeling safe, respected, listened to and supported.
Safeguarding is a responsibility shared by everyone involved in our organisation. All members of our teaching and support team are carefully selected through safer recruitment procedures. Our staff and practitioners are appropriately DBS checked, safeguarding trained and vetted before working with our young people. We ensure that everyone working with children understands their responsibilities and knows how to recognise, respond to and report safeguarding concerns.
We maintain clear safeguarding procedures covering our classes, rehearsals, performances, workshops, trips and other activities. We also ensure that appropriate safeguarding arrangements are in place when we work with external venues, practitioners and other organisations. Most importantly, we want every young person at Volt to know that their voice matters. We encourage our students to speak to a trusted member of our team if something is worrying them, and we will always take concerns seriously and respond appropriately.
Our commitment is simple:
We want every young person who walks through the doors of Volt Young Company to feel safe, valued, respected and able to be themselves. Safeguarding and children's welfare will always remain our highest priority.
